Out Of The Picture

Syren De Mer and Tyler Cruise are clearing out the house when the cheating comes up again. Tyler’s dad took off after getting caught, so now it’s just the two of them left with his junk. Syren’s still fuming—she used to be the side piece, so she should’ve smelled the setup a mile away. Tyler shrugs it off: what’s done is done. She stares at the last batch of photos they’re stuffing into boxes and blurts out they ought to shoot new ones—just the pair of them. She figures they need a pro, but Tyler grins, pulls out his phone, and says all he needs is decent lighting and her in frame. They lean in for the first shots. At first it’s all smiles and goofy poses, but every time his arm slides around her waist the air gets thicker. Their eyes meet once too often, hips brush once too hard, and suddenly the room feels ten degrees hotter. They both hesitate, guilt flashing through their heads, then laugh it off at the same time. Screw loyalty to the guy who screwed them both over. Tyler’s thumb keeps tapping the shutter, but the pictures are getting anything but innocent.
