Sharing Our Crush

Kimmy Kimm and Alison Rey just moved into their new apartment. Lucky break—they’ve got Penny Barber living right next door, and the veteran director is stopping by to check their student film. Penny watches their cut, nods along, then lays it on thick: killer pacing, killer visuals, distribution deals waiting to happen. Kimmy and Alison barely hear a word. Their eyes keep dropping south, and finally the truth tumbles out: they’ve both been drooling over Penny for weeks. Penny blinks, cheeks pink. Before the compliment even lands she’s got two grabby hands pulling at her, Alison tugging one wrist, Kimmy the other. They’re deadlocked, each refusing to let go. Penny laughs, yanks herself free, and clicks her tongue like a teacher scolding puppies. “Ladies,” she says, eyes sparkling, “we can share. Collaboration is what film’s all about.”
