Cameron's already waiting with that stupid smirk when I show up. We own the agency together, so he thinks it's hilarious to act like he got there first. We have this shitshow casting today, so we figure we'll grab lunch first like we always do. The second we step inside, though? The place looks like a goddamn crime scene. We curse, both of us, and just start throwing shit around to make the room halfway decent. In the middle of it all we unearth these boxes that've been buried under papers and coffee cups for ages—old headshots, signed comp cards, dried-up pens that probably haven’t worked since 2016. You can tell someone just shoved everything under the table the last time they gave up. Cameron holds up a grainy Polaroid of himself from ten years ago, flexed like a douchebag, hair greasy, and we laugh so hard his lunch ends up on the floor again.
