Late '90s LA, Lucky Fate's just another broke skater with paint on his fingers and too much time on his hands. He and his crew—Nathan Bronson, Charlotte Sins, Robby Apples, Lilly Bell, Vanna Bardot—live in half-empty warehouses and chase the next party. Nathan's about to do time, so the easy money he's been making starts looking like Lucky's only way out. Everyone warns him off it. Then Maya Woulfe walks back into his life. She knew him before the tattoos and the half-finished canvases, and suddenly he can taste something better than another stolen night on a roof. His old man, Tommy Pistol, is in deeper than Lucky knew, and Vicki Chase is stuck watching the two of them circle each other like stray dogs. Skateparks, backyard raves, stolen kisses behind dumpsters—Lucky keeps telling himself one more score and he's gone. But the streets and the girl and the father keep pulling him back until he has to decide whether to keep grinding or finally break free.
