Isabelle walks her step-daughter Rose into the wedding parlor lobby, hand in hand. Two hours to the ceremony and they’re buzzing, girl-talk flying. Rose looks straight-up stunning in white satin. Isabelle steers her to the big mirror for last-minute fixes. Then the tears hit. Rose figures it’s just Mom getting all emotional, but Isabelle keeps dropping hints between sniffles. Rose keeps asking. Finally Isabelle drops the bomb—she wants Rose for herself. Rose leans in like she’s going for the cheek, then pivots and plants one right on Isabelle’s lips. Isabelle freezes.
