If You Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em

Caroline's sitting there all dressed up, killing time in that killer dress, clearly waiting to go someplace nice. Her whole vibe says 'date night' until her husband Joseph rolls in late like he always does. The restaurant owner act drops quick when he mumbles about work running long. She doesn't buy a damn word, especially when he pulls her in for that guilty hug and she gets a nose full of some other woman's perfume on his collar. A few days later she's heading out for a weekend with a friend, bags packed, and Joseph's playing the caring husband as he sees her off. Soon as she's clear she parks down the block and waits. When enough time's passed, she creeps back inside quiet as a cat. The second she steps through the door she hears it. Moans floating down the hall from their bedroom. She steels herself, forces her feet to move, and swings the door open to find Joseph damn near sitting in this younger woman's lap. Stella's fresh-faced, barely legal-looking, and Joseph's excuse comes out in a rush about her being a waitress from the restaurant, just talking shop. Caroline sees straight through that bullshit like it's made of glass. The fight that follows shows her one truth clear as day: if she wants to keep this marriage from flatlining, she has to get dirtier than he's ever seen her. So she chokes down her pride, looks them both in the eye, and suggests a three-way right there in their bed. At least if she's in the mix she still runs the show.
